MICROGRID SERVICES

Introducing Microgrid Services

The demand for affordable, reliable and resilient energy continues to grow. The most effective approach to addressing this demand is through the deployment of Microgrids. A microgrid is defined as local generation resources with clearly defined boundaries which function as a single and controllable entity. Microgrids are comprised of multiple distributed energy resources (DERs), such as solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, generators, fuel cells and other resources. They can operate independently (off-grid) or in a grid-connect mode.

Microgrids can be engineered, designed, constructed and commissioned in a relatively short time frame when compared to traditional options.

Our team specializes in engineering and designing off-grid microgrids. Recent project experience includes projects for single family housing areas, multifamily housing, commercial business districts, and off grid EV charging stations.

Services offering include the following:

  • Microgrid Feasibility Studies – Identifying and analyzing the use cases and developing the business case.
  • Microgrid Design Concept Development – Preparing a thorough, living document that justifies the application of distributed energy resources (DERs) technologies to the use case.
  • Microgrid Engineering and Design Services - Utilizing modeling tools such as Xendee and HOMER we can quickly develop a model of a solution and provide predictable results to make informed engineering and design decisions.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bob for several years. In the beginning, Bob taught me important basics. Over a short period of time I was equipped with the language and tools to develop projects which resulted in more than 7 million dollars of sales. Over the past 5 years Bob has been a tremendous resource handling everything from initial ROI analysis to system design, rebate/ utility paperwork, city permitting, material sourcing, and final project paperwork. I can truly say Solar Design Studios played a major role in my success.

A sincere Thank You!
